CIO aka cry it out method aka the Ferber method.

Today we start the CIO method with Piper. Last night was my last straw! ever since we moved into my parents house, and even a little bit before she has been taking fewer naps, and they were only about 20-40 minutes long. And at night she has been waking up, where as she used to sleep ALL night long. I need to get some sleep at night! I really don't like listening to Piper crying. In fact it breaks my heart. Even when she is playing on the floor or in her jumper I immediately go to her when she starts complaining that she is done. So this is especially hard for me. She is actually doing VERY well with it from what I've been reading though. She only seems to need me to come in and soothe her (rubbing/tickling her back/head and shhing her.) 2-4 times. where as i read most kids cry longer and need more visits from mommy. So that makes me feel a little better. I have modified it a little bit though to fit *my* needs for the Ferber method. I don't leave after a minute or two, I stick around while she's not crying and try to help soothe her. I don't know if I'm sabotaging it or not, but I feel better lol. I also have crickets or soft music playing to help her to relax. I think it helps a lot while she isn't crying so she can pay attention to the noise. So here's hoping this works!! I'll definitely update in a few days so you know how it is either working or not working.

And for your enjoyment I've added a couple pictures of Piper. These are pictures of Piper in the same outfit (a 3 month outfit!). One when she was 3 months almost 4, and the other from today when she is 6 months almost 7! ENJOY!!!
