13 weeks
So it's been a couple weeks since I last posted. But I've made sure to take updated belly shots. Everyone is starting to ask me what *I* think I'm having, and honestly I don't know. Some days I think I'm having a boy, some days I think I'm having a girl. Obviously I'd love to have a girl because they are so much fun to dress up, and make look pretty. I mean my sister in laws can all tell you that I LOVE doing their little girls hair. Josi doesn't mind it so much, but Raquel sometimes would rather I didn't lol.
So far the only guesses I've had on gender are my brother Sam who thinks I'm having a boy, and a woman at work who also thinks I'm having a boy. This next week though, the day after my birthday I will *hopefully* get to find out what we're having. Although Dave recently started his new job (which he loves) and he's already in Wyoming, so my plan is to have my mid-wife write down the gender on a piece of paper, and seal it in an envelope. Then I'll take the envelope to a bakery and have them bake a small cake, and put the color of the gender in the middle icing. Then I'll head to Wyoming friday night and we'll cut the cake that night and find out what we're having together!
I'm excited to find out what we're having. I honestly can't wait. I told dave he'll be lucky if I don't dig into the cake before I get to Wyoming... lol he just laughed at me. Dave's new job is going to take a toll on him though, it's definitely going to be difficult, and a new chapter for him. Right now he's going from not having a job and being able to go to bed when he wanted and waking up when he wanted to having a schedule, and not only just a schedule, but starting work by 7am, and not coming home until 5pm. So he's now working 10 hour days, but that's not the worst part... he works 19 days straight w/out a day off, then after 19 days he gets 1 day off... yup you read that right... 1.
So my poor husband is going to be SO exhausted. Eventually (I believe) they will move him to 12 hour days. We are still waiting to find out when he goes to Houston for his certificate training. He'll get a $1 raise for each certificate he completes. I know the overtime will be nice on the paycheck, I just hope it doesn't kill him...
My last day at work is November 30th and I'm so sad to leave. I love my job. I love waking up and feeling like I have a purpose, I love ending my day having completed all of the most important claims, and either completed my day w/ 0 claims left, or just a couple claims left, or 0 claims and having worked a little ahead and also helping others get closer to their goal of being at 0 claims.
Oh I almost forgot the funniest story of them all!! LOL! I had to go to the Neurologist on November 2nd because I've been seeing these lines and spots, to explain what they look like, I describe them as shooting stars (so I should really be making wishes all day long right?). So my mid-wife sent me to a neurologist to rule out blood clots. So I go into the office to check in, (they were already aware that I was pregnant) and the lady checking me in was all smiles and nice.
She tells me to have a seat, and grabs my chart to look at it, then before I could go sit down she says "wait, how far along are you?" I said "13 weeks" she said "really?" I said "yup", she said "man... your baby must be really big!" I paused for a second because I really didn't know what to say or do. I just smiled, rubbed my fat bloated belly and said "yup, and I've been told there isn't two in there!" LOL! Who says things like that?! I was just so shocked and surprised at her comment because My belly isn't "baby" yet... it's just SERIOUSLY bloated... lol I don't think I'll ever forget that comment.
On a happier note... I confirmed w/ the doctor that I felt the baby for the first time at 13 weeks. Nothing major, but a little something. It makes this experience a little more real for me. :) (who knows... maybe the mid-wife was just telling me I felt it because she knew I really wanted to, but either way it felt good to be validated... lol)
